A Look at the Church Building

The Central Baptist Church was a one-story building. It measured about 40 feet wide and 95 feet long. The church had a hipped roof, which means all sides sloped downwards to the walls.

Unique Towers and Design

The front of the church faced east. It featured two tall towers, one at the north end and one at the south end. These towers were two stories high. They added a grand look to the church's design.

Why It Was Important

The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was part of a larger group of important buildings. This group included several Black Protestant churches in Muskogee. This recognition highlighted their historical value to the community.

The Church's History and Demolition

The Central Baptist Church stood for many years. It served its community from 1908 until 1985. Sadly, the building was taken down in 1985. It was removed to make space for the Arrowhead Mall.
