Central Valley is a small community known as a hamlet. It is located in Woodbury, New York, in the United States. In the year 2000, about 1,857 people lived there. At that time, it was also called a census-designated place, which means it's an area identified for gathering population data.
Central Valley is part of a larger region. This includes the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown metropolitan area. It's also part of the even bigger New York metropolitan area. This larger area stretches into New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
You can find Central Valley in the southern part of the Town and Village of Woodbury. It is located right along the New York State Thruway. This is also known as Interstate 87, at Exit 16. Central Valley is about 95 miles south of Albany. It is also about 50 miles north of New York City.
A very popular shopping spot, the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets center, is located in Central Valley.

In March 2018, meteorologist Jen Carfagno from The Weather Channel reported live from Central Valley. She was there during a big snowstorm that was called "Quinn."
