Ricardo González Gutiérrez (born February 7, 1946 – died March 8, 2021), known to everyone as Cepillín, was a famous Mexican clown. He was also a talented singer, a friendly TV host, and an actor. Cepillín brought smiles and laughter to millions of children across Mexico and Latin America for many years. His nickname, Cepillín, means "Little Toothbrush" in Spanish.

Cepillín's Amazing Career
Ricardo started his career as a dentist. He began painting his face like a clown. This helped kids feel less scared when he worked on their teeth. He became famous after a local TV channel interviewed him.
His Popular TV Shows and Music
In 1977, Cepillín got his own show with Televisa, called El Show de Cepillín. It was a mix of education, comedy, and interviews. Famous guests, like Lou Ferrigno (who played Hulk), appeared on his show. The show was a huge hit in Mexico, Chile, and Puerto Rico. It aired in more than 18 countries. Cepillín became one of the most famous clowns in Mexico and all of Latin America.
Cepillín also recorded 27 albums of children's songs. Eleven of these albums became "gold records," meaning they sold a lot of copies. In total, his songs sold over 25 million copies worldwide! Some of his most popular songs include La feria de Cepillín (Cepillín's Fair), Tomás (Thomas), and En el bosque de la China (In China's Forest). He even helped other artists become famous, like singer Yuri and actress Salma Hayek.
In 1987, he had another show called Una sonrisa con Cepillín (A Smile with Cepillín). Later, in 1990, he returned to Monterrey for Súper sábados con Cepillín (Super Saturdays with Cepillín). On this show, his sons, Ricardo González Jr. (Cepi) and Roberto González (Franky), joined him.
Touring with the Circus
From 1982 to 2006, Cepillín toured Mexico and the United States. He had his own circus that carried his name. He and his sons performed together, bringing joy to many families. In 2006, they even recorded a live show called Cepillín live for Multimedios Television.
Cepillín's Later Years
Ricardo González Gutiérrez passed away on March 8, 2021, at the age of 75. He had been admitted to a hospital in Naucalpan, Mexico, due to severe back pain. After surgery, he seemed to be getting better. However, his health declined, and he passed away after battling spinal cancer.
