Chackbay is a community in northern Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). In 2020, about 5,370 people lived there. Chackbay is part of a larger group of towns called the Houma–Bayou Cane–Thibodaux metropolitan area. It is also known as part of "Ward 6" in Lafourche Parish.

Chackbay is located in the northern part of Lafourche Parish. Its northern border touches St. James Parish. The community is built along the main roads, which are on higher ground. Many areas away from the roads are wetlands and not developed.
Roads and Nearby Towns
Louisiana Highway 20 goes through the western part of Chackbay. This highway leads south about 7 miles (11 km) to Thibodaux, which is the main town of the parish. It also goes northeast about 13 miles (21 km) to Vacherie.

- Louisiana Highway 304: This road goes west and southwest from Highway 20. It leads to Bayou Lafourche west of Thibodaux.
