Chakswari (which is also spelled Chaksawari) is a special area in the Mirpur District of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is a place with a rich history and a unique landscape.

This area includes 15 local groups called Union councils. One of these is the Islamgarh Municipal Committee. Chakswari is about 42 kilometers (26 miles) away from Mirpur city.

Many years ago, the Mangla Dam project was built. This big project changed the lives of people living in Chakswari and Islamgarh. Before the dam, the old Mirpur City was very close to Chakswari. Now, that old city is under the waters of the Mangla Dam.

Chakswari has many villages. These villages are located around the Mangla Dam and the main Chakswari market.
