Chandler is a small place in Clay County, located in the northwest part of Missouri. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county.

Chandler is situated along the Burlington Northern Railroad Line. This railroad connects it to other nearby towns like Liberty and Kearney. A stream called Holmes Creek also flows right past the community.

History of Chandler

The community of Chandler got its start a long time ago.

A post office opened in Chandler in 1885. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This one served the community for many years, until it closed down in 1947.

The name "Chandler" was chosen to honor a man named John N. Chandler. He was an officer during the American Civil War, a big war fought in the United States from 1861 to 1865.
