Kanukuntla Subhash Chandrabose is a famous Indian lyricist and singer. He writes songs mainly for movies in Telugu cinema, which is a big film industry in India.
Chandrabose started his career as a lyricist in 1995. His first film was Taj Mahal. Over 25 years, he has written words for about 3,600 songs in more than 850 films!
He is very well-known for writing the song "Naatu Naatu" from the movie RRR (2022). This song won him an Academy Award (also known as an Oscar) and a Golden Globe Award. Early Life and Career
Chandrabose was born in a village called Challagariga. This village is in Telangana, India. He finished high school there. He is the youngest of four children. His father worked as a teacher.
He studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. After college, he first tried to become a singer. He even tried singing for a TV channel called Doordarshan. But it didn't work out. So, he decided to try writing song lyrics instead.
He got his start in the film industry in 1995. This was with the movie Taj Mahal. A music director named M. M. Srilekha helped him write his very first film song. It was called "Manchu Kondallona Chandramaa". His first director, Muppalaneni Siva, suggested he use "Chandrabose" as his screen name.
Family Life
Chandrabose is married to Suchitra. She is a talented choreographer in the Telugu film industry. They have two children, a son named Nanda Vanamali and a daughter named Amrita Varshini. He also has two brothers, Rajender and Koti, and a sister named Swaroopa.
