Charles Stephen Longuet was an important person in the history of Invercargill, New Zealand. He served as the city's Mayor twice. He was the 27th Mayor of Invercargill.

Charles Stephen Longuet was born in a place called Bluff in 1861. Bluff is a town in New Zealand. He went to school in Invercargill.
A Career in Law
After finishing school, Charles Longuet decided to become a lawyer. In 1890, he officially became a lawyer. This means he was allowed to work as a lawyer. He also became the President of the Law Society. This is a group for lawyers.
Serving Invercargill as Mayor
Charles Longuet was involved in local government for many years. He joined the Borough Council in 1897. The Borough Council helps run the city. Later, he became the Mayor of Invercargill. He served as Mayor two times:
- From 1901 to 1902
- From 1909 to 1910
He passed away on October 10, 1941, when he was 80 years old.
