Charles Lexington Manners Sutton (26 April 1891 – 8 October 1962) was an English cricket player and a British Army officer. He served in the British Army from 1911 to 1931. During this time, he fought in the First World War. He also played first-class cricket for the British Army cricket team. Later in his life, he received a special award called the MBE.

His Military Career
Charles Sutton joined the British Army in 1911. He started as a second lieutenant. He was first with the Royal Sussex Regiment. Later, he moved to the Royal Fusiliers.

Sutton served with the Royal Fusiliers during the First World War. He showed great skill and leadership. He quickly moved up in rank. By 1915, he was a lieutenant. In 1916, he became a captain. By June 1917, he was a brigade major. This meant he was in charge of a large group of soldiers.

In September 1917, Charles Sutton married Amabel Anne Ludlow. They had two sons together. After the war, his first marriage ended. In June 1932, he married his second wife, Gladys Louise Gubb.

After the First World War, Charles Sutton played first-class cricket. He played for the British Army cricket team. His first match was in 1920 at Lord's, a famous cricket ground. He played four more matches for the Army team. His last game was in 1923.
