Charlotte is a city in Atascosa County, Texas, United States. In 2020, about 1,524 people lived there. It is part of the larger San Antonio area. The city was named after Charlotte Simmons. She was the daughter of Dr. Charles Simmons, who helped develop Atascosa County.

Education in Charlotte
Students in Charlotte go to schools in the Charlotte Independent School District. The local high school is Charlotte High School, and their sports teams are called the Trojans.
An important event in the history of education here happened in 1928. A person named Felipe Vela filed the first official legal complaint in Texas about schools being separated based on race for Mexican students. This complaint was about his daughter, Amada Vela. The State Board of Education looked into the complaint and agreed with the Vela family. This was a big step towards fair education for everyone.
