Charlotte Verity, born on June 1, 1954, is a talented British artist. She is known for her beautiful paintings and prints. Today, she lives and works in Somerset, England. In 2016, a special book about her art, called Charlotte Verity, was released.
About Charlotte Verity
Charlotte was born in Germany. She went to a famous art school called the Slade School of Art from 1973 to 1977. She even won a prize in her last year! In 1978, she received a special scholarship. This allowed her to travel and study art in Italy.
Charlotte's art has been shown in many group exhibitions. These are shows where several artists display their work together. Some important ones include the John Moores Painting Prize and the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition.
She has also had her own solo art shows. These have been held at places like the Purdy Hicks Gallery in 2016. Her work was also shown at the Garden Museum in London in 2011 and 2018. The New Art Centre in Wiltshire hosted her exhibition in 2019.
Since 2001, Charlotte has been teaching at the Royal Drawing School in London. She helps other artists learn and grow there. In 2010, she was asked by Sir John Soane’s Museum to paint a portrait. It was a painting of their former director, Margaret Richardson.
A book about her art, Charlotte Verity, was published in 2016. It included writings by other artists and art historians.
Charlotte has also been an artist-in-residence at different places. This means she spent time creating art there. Some of these places include the Towner Art Gallery and the Garden Museum.
