Château Laroche, also known as the Loveland Castle, is a unique museum in Loveland, Ohio, USA. It sits right by the Little Miami River. This amazing building looks just like a real Medieval castle!
A man named Harry D. Andrews started building it in 1927. He was a Boy Scout leader and a veteran from World War I. He loved everything about the Middle Ages. Andrews named his castle after a hospital in France where he stayed during the war. The name "Château Laroche" means "Rock Castle" in French.

Building a Dream Castle
Harry D. Andrews spent over fifty years working on his castle. He didn't have a lot of money, so he used clever ways to get building materials.
Stones and Milk Cartons
At first, Andrews gathered stones from the nearby Little Miami River. When those ran out, he got even more creative. He used cement and empty quart milk cartons to mold his own bricks! It was a huge project that he worked on for most of his life.
The Castle Today
Harry D. Andrews passed away in 1981. He left his beloved castle to his Boy Scout troop, who were called the Knights of the Golden Trail (KOGT).
Keeping the Dream Alive
Since Andrews' death, the KOGT have continued to work on the castle. They have made many upgrades and renovations. The castle is now mostly complete, thanks to their efforts.
Inside the Castle
Today, you can visit the castle and see its unique features. The East tower has a short video about Andrews' dream. The walls of the upstairs chapel are special. They have stones that Andrews collected during his travels around the world. Other stones were sent to him by friends from far-off places. Recently, the outside gardens have been expanded, and a new greenhouse has been added.
Spooky Stories?
Over the years, there have been many tales about the castle being haunted. These stories often come from the volunteer knights who work at Château Laroche. They say that sometimes strange things happen there!
