Chaz Calvaron Williams (born April 6, 1991) is an American professional basketball player. He is known for playing as a point guard, which is like the team's quarterback in basketball. Chaz played college basketball for the University of Massachusetts (UMass). He was considered one of the best point guards in the country during his final college season.

College Basketball Journey
High School and First College Team
Chaz Williams was a star player at Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School in Brooklyn, New York. He was named the best player in his conference twice. After high school, he decided to play for Hofstra University, which was close to home. He quickly became a starter on the team. In his first year, he scored about 9.8 points and made 4.2 assists per game. He was even named to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Freshman team.
Moving to UMass and Big Success
After his coach left Hofstra, Chaz decided to transfer to UMass. He had to sit out one season because of transfer rules. But when he started playing in the 2011–12 season, he helped UMass win 25 games! He was amazing, averaging 16.9 points, 6.2 assists, 2.2 steals, and 4.4 rebounds per game. Because of his great play, he was named to the First-team All-Atlantic 10 Conference.
As a junior, he continued to play well, averaging 15.5 points and 7.3 assists per game. He was again named to the All-Atlantic 10 team. Chaz helped UMass beat some really strong teams, like VCU and Dayton.
Senior Year and NCAA Tournament
Before his senior year, Chaz thought about trying to join the NBA. But after talking with his coach, he decided to play one more year at UMass. He wanted to help his team make it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
In his senior season, Chaz was recognized as one of the top players in college basketball. He was on watch lists for major awards, including the Naismith Player of the Year Award. He led UMass to the NCAA Tournament in 2014. Chaz is also ranked 23rd all-time in career assists in NCAA history, which is a huge achievement!
Professional Basketball Career
After finishing college, Chaz Williams was not chosen in the 2014 NBA draft. However, he still started his professional basketball journey.
Playing Overseas and in the G-League
In August 2014, Chaz signed with a team called Olin Edirne in the Turkish Basketball League. He played a few games there before moving on. In 2015, he joined the Maine Red Claws in the NBA Development League (now called the G-League). He also played for the Delaware 87ers that same year.
Chaz then played for teams in different countries. In 2017, he signed with Korihait in Finland. He averaged 12.6 points and 3.8 assists per game there.
Iceland and Other European Teams
In 2018, Chaz moved to Iceland to play for Þór Þorlákshöfn. He had a strong performance, averaging 15.8 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.9 steals per game. In 2019, he played for Wilki Morskie Szczecin in Poland.
Later in 2019, Chaz returned to Iceland and joined Njarðvík. He reunited with his old coach there. He quickly became a key player for the team, averaging 20 points, 4.9 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. In January 2020, he scored a season-high 36 points in a game.
After his time in Iceland, Chaz played for KK Pelister in North Macedonia from 2020 to 2021. He averaged 19.4 points and 7.8 assists per game there. He also played for AMSB in France in 2022.
In May 2023, Chaz Williams returned to Iceland to play for Njarðvík again. He continues to be an important player for his teams.
