Her Early Life and Learning

Chenta Laury grew up on Oahu, another beautiful island in Hawai'i. She loved art from a young age and decided to study it in college. She earned a degree in studio art and art history from Oberlin College. Later, she continued her studies and received a Masters degree from Harvard University. She also got a special certificate in applied arts, focusing on fiber crafts, which means working with textiles and threads.

Her Art and Career

Chenta Laury's artwork has been shown in many exhibitions across the country. One of her big projects was a large art installation at the Honolulu Biennial, which is a major art event in Hawai'i. She also participated in a group show called "Paper is People: Decolonizing Global Paper Cultures" at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts. In 2023, she had her own special show called "Adaptive Frameworks" at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center's Schaefer International Gallery.
