How Chesbro Reservoir Was Made
Chesbro Reservoir was created in 1955. This happened when the Elmer J. Chesbro Dam was built across Llagas Creek. The dam is located in a valley west of El Toro peak.
The reservoir and the dam were named after Elmer J. Chesbro. He was a local doctor who led the Santa Clara Valley Water Conservation District at the time. Today, this district is known as the Santa Clara Valley Water District.
