The Chicago Board of Trade Building is a very tall building, called a skyscraper, located in Chicago, Illinois, USA. It is one of the tallest buildings in Chicago, standing 184 meters (605 feet) high with 44 floors. At the very top, there's a special statue of Ceres, the Roman goddess of farming. This statue shows that the building was important for trading farm products like corn and wheat.

History of the Building

The Chicago Board of Trade Building was built a long time ago, starting in 1929 and finishing in 1930. You can find it at 141 W. Jackson Boulevard in the Chicago Loop area.
This building is very important. It became a special "Chicago Landmark" on May 4, 1977. This means it's a historic place that the city wants to protect. It was also named a "National Historic Landmark" on June 2, 1978. This is an even bigger honor, recognizing its importance to the whole country.
The building was first made for the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT). This was a place where people bought and sold things like grain and other farm products. Today, it is still a main place for trading. It is now used by the CME Group, which was formed in 2007 when the Chicago Board of Trade joined with another big trading group.

The Chicago Board of Trade Building is so famous that it has been in many movies! You might have seen it in films like Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Batman Begins, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and The Dark Knight. It even appeared as the outside of the Daily Planet building in the 2013 Superman movie Man of Steel.
