Chico's Tacos is a super famous restaurant chain in El Paso, Texas. It was started on July 4, 1953, by a local boxing promoter named Joe Mora. Many people in El Paso think it's a really special place. It's probably the most famous restaurant there!
Chico's even showed up on the Food Network show The Best Thing I Ever Ate. A funny comedian, Gabriel Iglesias, also talked about it in his show I'm not Fat... I'm Fluffy. Chico's is famous for its unique rolled tacos. They come in a special tomato soup-like sauce. And the prices are really good!
They also serve other yummy foods. You can get hamburgers, French fries, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Chico's employees sometimes call grilled cheese sandwiches "grillos." They also have special round hot dogs served on hamburger buns. The first Chico's was at 4230 Alameda Avenue. Now, there are five locations in El Paso. Joe Mora's children have run the restaurants since he passed away in 1992.

What Makes Chico's Tacos Special?
The Famous Tacos
Chico's Tacos is best known for its special dish. It's a paper tray with three rolled tacos, also called flautas. These tacos sit in a warm bath of a unique tomato soup-like sauce. Shredded cheese is sprinkled on top.
The fun way to eat them is to pick up one taco at a time. Then, use your fork to scoop some melted cheese onto the taco. After that, you can take a bite!
You can order a "single order" which has three tacos. Or, you can get a "double order" with six tacos. Many fans like to order two single orders instead of one double order. They say it gives you the best amount of cheese for each taco!
Unique Hot Dogs and Fries
Besides their legendary tacos, Chico's Tacos also has unique hot dogs. These are not like regular hot dogs you might find. They are served on a hamburger bun!
Each bun has two hot dogs sliced in half lengthwise. They are topped with chili, mustard, and pickles. You can also get a side of crinkle-cut fries. Some people say these fries taste best when dipped in Chico's special tomato sauce and topped with cheese!

It was introduced by Norma Chavez, an El Paso representative. The resolution honored the Mora family, who own Chico's. It also celebrated the restaurant's 50th anniversary!
