Ancient History of Chicoloapan
Chicoloapan is home to an old Mesoamerican city. This ancient city is not protected today. People first settled here even before the famous city of Teotihuacan grew big, around 200 BCE. The city kept growing for many years after Teotihuacan fell, around 550-600 CE. This long history helps us understand how big cities and their surrounding areas worked together in ancient times.

It was started by local people, not by the government or any political group. In 2010, this website won an award for helping to share community activities and bring people together.
