Chicureo is a special area located in Colina, a town in Chile. It's part of the Chacabuco Province in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. The name Chicureo comes from the Mapudungun language, which means 'place where lances are set up'. In 2002, about 1,212 people lived there.


Life and History in Chicureo

Chicureo has always been a place for farming. It is home to many large farms called haciendas. These haciendas are big estates, often with grand houses, where people grow crops and raise animals.

One important historical building is the Hacienda Guay-Guay. This manor house in the northeast part of Chicureo is over 100 years old. It has been kept in its original condition, showing what life was like long ago. It's like a living piece of history!
