Child Lake 164A is a special area of land called an Indian reserve. It belongs to the Beaver First Nation people. This reserve is in Alberta, Canada, within Mackenzie County.
It is about 32 kilometers (20 miles) northwest of a town called Fort Vermilion. The name "Child Lake" comes from a nearby lake. Long ago, a child sadly drowned there.
