History of Chilly
The community of Chilly got its name because of the cool air often found there. This is especially true since it is located at a higher elevation.
A long time ago, in 1902, a post office was opened in Chilly. This was an important place for people to send and receive mail. The post office stayed open for many years, finally closing in 1958.
Chilly was once home to more people. In 1909, about 107 people lived there. By 1940, the population had changed to 92 residents.
