China had never won a medal at the Winter Paralympics prior to the start of the 2018 Winter Games. The best finish they had was fourth at the 2014 Winter Paralympics. Their wheelchair curling team finished fourth. China's best individual finish was also in 2014. Peng Yuanyuan finished fifth in the women's cross-country skiing 5 km classic style standing.
