Music Journey
Early Career and First Album
Choppa started his music career in the early 2000s. His very first album was called Choppa Style. It came out in 2001. This album was released by an independent record company named Take Fo' Records. The main song from the album, also called "Choppa Style," became very popular in his hometown of New Orleans. A "hit" song means it was widely listened to and loved by many people.
Second Album and Chart Success
In 2003, Choppa released his second album, Straight from the N.O.. This album was put out by Master P's No Limit Records. It was quite successful, reaching number 54 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The Billboard 200 is a list that ranks the 200 most popular music albums in the United States each week.
Joining Body Head Bangerz
A year later, in 2004, Choppa joined a music group called Body Head Bangerz. This group was formed by the famous boxer Roy Jones Jr.. Roy Jones Jr.'s record label, Body Head Entertainment, released Choppa's next two albums. His third album, Da Real Choppa, came out in 2005. His fourth album, Comin' Back Home, was released in 2006.
Recent Projects
After a break, Choppa released his first mixtape in 2013. It was also titled "Choppa Style." A mixtape is like an album, but it often includes a mix of new songs, remixes, or freestyles. This was his first solo music project in seven years, showing he was still active in the music scene.
