Bryson LaShun Potts, born on November 1, 2002, is an American rapper and YouTuber. He is known by his stage name NLE Choppa. He first became famous in 2019 with his song "Shotta Flow". This song became very popular and was even certified platinum. It also reached the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart. After this success, he released his first collection of songs, called an extended play (EP), named Cottonwood.

NLE Choppa later signed with Warner Records. He released his first studio album, Top Shotta, in 2020. This album was a big hit, reaching the top ten on the US Billboard 200 chart. Bryson Lashun Potts was born on November 1, 2002. His father is African American, and his mother is Jamaican. He grew up in Southeast Memphis, Tennessee, in an area called Parkway Village.

He went to Cordova High School where he played basketball. When he was 15, he started making up rhymes with his friends. By the time he was 16, he decided to take music seriously.

His Music Journey

Starting Out and First Hits

NLE Choppa's mother, Angela Potts, has been his manager since he started rapping. He released his first song, "No Love Anthem," in March 2018. Back then, he used the name YNR Choppa. In July, he put out his first mixtape called No Love the Takeover.

In December 2018, he was part of a group song called "No Chorus Pt. 3." His part in the song and his dance moves in the music video made him stand out. This helped him get noticed online.

After gaining attention, he released his breakthrough song, "Shotta Flow." The music video quickly got 10 million views. Pitchfork magazine praised the song for his energetic style. The song entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 2019 and later reached number 36. A new version of the song with Blueface came out in June. More Music and Me vs. Me

NLE Choppa continued to release new music. In February 2021, he hinted at "Shotta Flow 6" and "Walk Em Down 2" with Lil Durk. His fifth mixtape, Me vs. Me, came out on January 28, 2022. This mixtape had 16 songs and featured other artists like Young Thug, Polo G, G Herbo, and Moneybagg Yo. "Shotta Flow 6" was released on the same day with a music video.

In November 2022, he was featured on rapper Lambo40e’s song "Self Esteem." He released the single "Shotta Flow 7" in December 2023.
