Johnathan Jamall Porter (born January 20, 1997), known as Blueface, is an American rapper. In October 2018, he became very popular online. This happened after he released the music video for his song "Respect My Cryppin'" (which means "Respect My Crew"). People noticed his unique way of rapping, which was a bit "offbeat." The next month, he signed with Cash Money West, a record label.
His song "..." from 2018 became a huge hit the next year. It reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Famous artists like Cardi B and YG even made remixes of the song. His first album, Find the Beat (2020), was delayed many times. It received mixed reviews from critics and didn't sell as well as expected.

Early Life and School
Johnathan Jamall Porter was born on January 20, 1997. He grew up in Los Angeles, California. He went to many different elementary schools. First, he lived with his mom in Santa Clarita Valley. Later, he moved to Oakland with his dad.
After moving to the San Fernando Valley, Johnathan went to Arleta High School. He played the alto saxophone in the marching band. He also joined the school's football team. When he was a sophomore, he grew much taller, reaching 6 feet 4 inches. He became the team's starting quarterback. In 2013, he threw for 1,234 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2014, he improved to 1,724 yards and 21 touchdowns. He led his team to win the East Valley League championship. Johnathan planned to play college football at Fayetteville State University. He played for a short time before leaving in 2016.
Music Journey
Starting Out and Online Fame (2017–2018)
Blueface started rapping in January 2017. He used the name Blueface Bleedem. He moved back to Los Angeles after leaving college. A friend invited him to a music studio. There, he was challenged to rap over a beat. This led him to release his first song, "Deadlocs," on SoundCloud. In June 2018, he released his first full music project, Famous Cryp. In September 2018, he released his second project, Two Coccy.
In October 2018, Blueface released a music video for "Respect My Cryppin'" on WorldStarHipHop's YouTube channel. The video quickly became a popular meme on Twitter. This made more people notice his music. His songs "..." and "Next Big Thing" became very popular. He also held a contest on Instagram. He asked fans to vote on which high school he should visit. Pasadena High School won. This challenge helped him gain even more followers. In November 2018, Blueface signed with Cash Money Records. He even shared videos of himself in the studio with famous rappers like Drake and Quavo.
In December 2018, Blueface became popular online again. This happened after he shared an acoustic video. It showed a preview of his new song, "Bleed It". The full song and its music video came out in January 2019. The video was directed by Cole Bennett. It got over 2 million views in just one day.
Big Hits and Albums (2019–Present)
On January 26, 2019, Blueface's song "..." appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was his first song to make it onto a Billboard chart. He released a remix of the song with YG and a music video. The next week, he released another remix with Cardi B. On May 1, 2019, Blueface released the music video for his song "Stop Cappin". It got over 5 million views in four days. In August 2019, Blueface released an EP called Dirt Bag. An EP is like a mini-album. It included songs like "Stop Cappin'", "Daddy", and "Bussdown". The EP had eight songs. Other artists like The Game, Rich the Kid, Offset, Lil Pump, and Mozzy were featured on it. His song "Daddy" with Rich the Kid reached number 78 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Dirt Bag EP reached number 48 on the Billboard 200 chart.
In October 2019, Blueface announced his first full album, Find the Beat. He released four songs from the album before it came out. These included "Close Up" with Jeremih, "First Class" with Gunna, "Obama" with DaBaby, and "Holy Moly" with NLE Choppa. The album was supposed to come out in December 2019 but was delayed. It was delayed again in January 2020. Finally, Find the Beat was released on March 13, 2020. It had 16 songs and featured many artists. Another rapper, Lil Uzi Vert, praised the album.
In 2021, Blueface opened a restaurant in Santa Clarita, California. It serves soul food and is called Blue's Fish and Soul.
Music Style
Blueface has a unique rapping style. His voice and "off-beat" rhythm have been compared to other California rappers. He has said that he writes his songs "to the beat." This means he uses the music as the main idea for his lyrics.
Boxing Career
In June 2021, Blueface announced he would fight for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. He had his first fight on July 23, 2021. It was a special gloved match against TikToker Kane Trujillo. Blueface won the fight by a decision from all the judges.
Blueface was supposed to have two more fights in 2022. One fight was canceled due to personal reasons. Another fight was canceled because he could not get his boxing license.
In April 2023, Blueface fought English TikToker Ed Matthews. This fight took place at Wembley Arena in London, England. Blueface won the fight in the fifth round.
Personal Life
Johnathan Porter has three children.
He was in a relationship with Chrisean Malone from 2020 to 2023. In January 2023, Malone announced she was expecting their child. Their son, Chrisean Jesus Malone Jr., was born on September 3, 2023.
In December 2019, Blueface received some criticism. He posted a video of himself throwing cash into a crowd of people. This happened in Skid Row, an area in Los Angeles known for poverty. Some people thought it was a kind act. However, others said it was not respectful to the people there.
