Music Career
2013–2017: Starting Out
In 2013, Sada Baby started to focus seriously on his rap career and began to build a group of fans. Over the next three years, he released many songs and was featured on other artists' tracks, but he didn't get much attention.
He almost gave up on music in 2016. However, he decided to enter a local rap competition. He competed against 12 other rappers and won, earning prize money. After this win, Sada Baby started releasing many singles and music videos on YouTube. This led to his first popular mixtape, Skuba Sada, in 2017. That same year, he also joined his friend Tee Grizzley's record label, Grizzley Gang, and released another mixtape called D.O.N - Dat One ....
2018–2019: Big Break with "Bloxk Party"
In March 2018, Sada Baby released the music video for "Bloxk Party," a song he made with another Detroit rapper, Drego. The video became a huge hit online. A few months later, Sada Baby signed a record deal with Asylum Records.
"Bloxk Party" was officially released again on September 28, 2018. It was a single from his third mixtape, Bartier Bounty, which came out on January 25, 2019. The mixtape was well-liked by music critics. On September 27, 2019, he released his fourth mixtape, Whoop Tape. In 2019, Sada Baby left the Grizzley Gang record label because he wanted to release music more often than the label allowed.
2020–Present: "Whole Lotta Choppas" and More Success
On January 1, 2020, Sada Baby released the mixtape Brolik. A few days later, he released the song "Pressin" with rapper King Von. In March 2020, he released his first official studio album, Skuba Sada 2. The album included his single "Aktivated" and reached number 125 on the Billboard 200 chart.
On August 14, 2020, Sada Baby released the single "Whole Lotta Choppas". The song started a viral dance challenge on TikTok and appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. On October 16, 2020, a remix of the song featuring superstar rapper Nicki Minaj was released. This new version became even more popular, climbing to number 35 on the charts.
