Terry Sanchez Wallace Jr. (born March 23, 1994), known as Tee Grizzley, is an American rapper. He became famous in 2017 with his song "First Day Out." This song quickly became very popular online, getting millions of views on YouTube. Basketball star LeBron James even helped make it a viral challenge!
"First Day Out" reached the top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart. This success led Tee Grizzley to sign with 300 Entertainment. After that, he released his first mixtape, My Moment (2017). He also released the hit song "From the D to the A" with Lil Yachty, which sold over two million copies.
His first studio album, Activated (2018), reached number ten on the Billboard 200 chart. His later albums, Scriptures (2019) and Built for Whatever (2021), also did very well. In 2023, his album Tee's Coney Island brought him back to the charts with the song "IDGAF," featuring Chris Brown and Mariah the Scientist.

Early life and background
Terry Sanchez Wallace Jr. was born on March 23, 1994, in Detroit, Michigan. He was raised by his grandmother. In middle school, he started to love rap music. He formed a group called All Stars Ball Hard with his friends. They uploaded their songs to YouTube. Sadly, his father passed away in 2012.
Terry was the first in his family to go to college. He studied finance and accounting at Michigan State University. During this time, he faced some tough challenges. After these difficulties, he decided to focus seriously on his music.
Music career highlights
Starting out: 2016–2019
While facing personal challenges, Tee Grizzley started writing his first mixtape. After this period, he released his first song, "First Day Out," in November 2016. The music video for this song quickly got over 2 million views on YouTube in just a few weeks!
Because of this huge success, he signed with 300 Entertainment and Atlantic Records in 2017. He then released more songs like "Second Day Out" and "From the D to the A" with Lil Yachty.
His first mixtape, My Moment, came out on April 7, 2017. Tee Grizzley shared that his music sales grew a lot after LeBron James posted about his song on Instagram. He also released "Teetroit" and "Beef" with Meek Mill. In 2017, he was nominated for two 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards for Best New Hip-Hop Artist and Best Mixtape.
He continued to release new music, including "Win" and "What Yo City Like" with rapper Lil Durk. They even released a joint mixtape called Bloodas in December 2017. His first studio album, Activated, was released on May 11, 2018. In August 2018, he was nominated for a 2018 MTV Video Music Award. He also released another mixtape, Still My Moment, in November 2018.
In August 2019, Tee Grizzley faced a very sad event when his aunt and manager, Jobina Brown, passed away in a shooting incident. He and his driver were unharmed. He later released the song "Satish" with a music video to remember her.
Recent music: 2020–present
In January 2020, Tee Grizzley released the song "Red Light." He also released "Payroll" with Payroll Giovanni. His song "No Talkin" was featured in the Netflix movie Coffee & Kareem. He released "I Spy" in May and "Mr. Officer" in June, which featured Queen Naija and the Detroit Youth Choir. His mixtape The Smartest came out on June 19, 2020.
On May 7, 2021, Tee Grizzley released his third studio album, Built for Whatever. This album had 19 songs and featured many other artists like King Von, Young Dolph, Lil Durk, YNW Melly, Quavo, G Herbo, and Big Sean.
On April 15, 2022, he released the mixtape Half Tee Half Beast. He explained the title, saying, "Yeah, I'm human like everyone else, but also the things I've been through and had to survive made me a beast."
His fifth studio album, Post Traumatic, was released on October 4, 2024. It included several singles released earlier in 2024, such as "Suffer in Silence," "Swear to God," and "Detroit."
Personal life
In February 2021, Tee Grizzley became a father to his son, Terry Wallace III.
Tee Grizzley also loves gaming! He started streaming his games to fans on Twitch in 2020. Most of his streams are about the game Grand Theft Auto V.
