Jamell Maurice Demons (born May 1, 1999), known professionally as YNW Melly, is an American rapper and singer. He became famous in 2018 after releasing his song "Murder on My Mind". This song helped him get noticed by many people. It reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart.
After this success, he signed with 300 Entertainment. He then released his first mixtape, I Am You (2018). His next mixtape, We All Shine (2019), also did very well. Early Life and Beginnings
Jamell Demons was born on May 1, 1999, in Gifford, Florida. He was raised by his mother, Jamie Demons-King. His mother was very young when he was born. They later moved to a less wealthy part of Gifford. His mother worked hard to provide for their family.

By March 2019, YNW Melly's songs had been streamed over 200 million times on Spotify. He had more than 10 million monthly listeners. His most popular song was "Murder on My Mind".
