Education in Choudrant
Choudrant is part of the fifth district of the Lincoln Parish School System. There are two schools in the Choudrant area: Choudrant Elementary and Choudrant High.
Choudrant Elementary serves about 400 to 450 students from kindergarten to 6th grade. Choudrant High School has about 350 students in grades 7 through 12. Both schools are known for their strong academic performance.
The high school was rebuilt in 1937 after a fire. The elementary school was also rebuilt and made bigger after a fire in the 1970s. Over the years, the student population grew too large for the elementary school building. In 2007, people in the school district voted against a plan to fund renovations for the high school and rebuild the elementary school. However, a few years later, a new tax plan passed. Since then, the high school has been rebuilt. It now has a new wing, a new agricultural center, and a new track.
