Early Life and Training
Chris Obi was born in London, England. His father was from the Igbo community. Chris studied acting at a special school called the Drama Centre London. He finished his training there in 2001. Later, he even taught acting to students at a place called Actor in Session, where he is now the Artistic Director.
Acting Career
Chris Obi started his acting career in the theater. His first professional play was Macbeth in 2002. He has worked with famous theater groups like the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Globe Theatre.
Famous Roles
Chris Obi is well-known for playing Mr. Jacquel, who is also the ancient Egyptian god Anubis, in the TV series American Gods. He also played a Klingon captain named T’Kuvma in the science fiction show Star Trek: Discovery. These roles made him very popular with fans.
