Christian Mbulu (born August 6, 1996 – died May 26, 2020) was a professional English footballer. He played as a defender, which means his job was to stop the other team from scoring goals. Christian played for several clubs during his career, including Brentwood Town, Millwall, Motherwell, Crewe Alexandra, and Morecambe.

Christian Mbulu started his football career at a young age. He played for youth teams like Thurrock and East Thurrock United.
Starting at Brentwood Town
Christian began his senior career when he was 17 years old. He joined Brentwood Town, a non-League club, in the 2013–14 season. This was his first step into professional football.
Time at Millwall
After showing his skills in a trial, Christian signed his first professional contract with Millwall on his 19th birthday, August 6, 2015. He had also been offered a contract by Colchester United, but he chose Millwall. During his time at Millwall, some big clubs like Chelsea and Crystal Palace showed interest in him. He stayed at Millwall for three seasons before leaving in 2018.
Loan Spells
Sometimes, players go on loan to other clubs to get more playing time.
- In January 2016, Christian joined Canvey Island for one month. He played three games there.
- In March 2017, he moved to Braintree Town for a month-long loan.
Playing for Motherwell
On August 10, 2018, Christian signed a one-year contract with Motherwell in Scotland. This was after he left Millwall. In October 2018, he was named "Player of the Round" in the Scottish Challenge Cup. This was because he scored a goal that helped Motherwell's under-21 team win a game. Christian played his first league game for Motherwell on November 11, coming on as a substitute against Rangers. Motherwell confirmed that Christian would leave the club when his contract ended on May 31, 2019.
Joining Crewe Alexandra
On October 30, 2019, Christian signed a short-term contract with Crewe Alexandra. He made his first appearance for them on November 5, 2019, in an EFL Trophy match. He left Crewe Alexandra in January 2020.
Last Club: Morecambe
After leaving Crewe, Christian joined Morecambe for the rest of the season. He made his debut for Morecambe on January 28, 2020, in a match they won against Walsall.

His Passing
Christian Mbulu sadly passed away on May 26, 2020, when he was 23 years old. Police were called to his home and said that his death was not suspicious. His team remembered him by placing a picture of him on the substitutes' bench during a game against Chelsea in January 2021. They also did this at the Wembley play-off final in May 2021, showing how much he was missed.
