Christian Vidal's Early Life and Music Journey
Christian Vidal grew up in Zárate, a city in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina. He began playing the guitar when he was just eight years old.
Forming the Band Cuero
In 2001, Christian helped create a heavy metal band called Cuero. He formed the band with Enrique Gomez Yafal, who used to sing for the band Kamikaze. Cuero toured all over Argentina. They also recorded two albums: "Cuero" in 2000 and "Heavy Metal" in 2004.
Solo Music and Tours
Christian released his first solo album, "El Viaje", in 2005. On this album, he mixed instrumental rock music with traditional Argentine styles. These styles included Folklore and Tango. He even toured Spain twice to share his music from this album.
Playing with The Road Vultures
In 2007, Christian joined a band called The Road Vultures. This band was formed to play with Eric Martin, the former singer of the famous band Mr. Big. Christian and The Road Vultures toured with Eric Martin across South America and India. Other members of the band were Charlie Giardina on bass and Pablo Garrocho on drums.
Teaching Guitar
For several years, Christian also taught guitar lessons. He taught at the Technological Institute for Contemporary Music (I.T.M.C.). His lessons focused on how to improvise and play chords using Argentine native music styles.
Joining Therion
In February 2010, Christian Vidal became the new guitarist for the band Therion. He helped record their album "Sitra Ahra". After the album was finished, he went on a tour with Therion across Latin America. This tour started on October 1 in Buenos Aires. In November and December, they toured Europe to present their new music.
In March 2012, Christian traveled to Sweden. There, he recorded guitar parts for another new Therion album, "Les Fleurs du Mal".
Touring and Celebrations
In April 2012, Christian toured with the Queen symphonic rhapsody show. He performed with singers like Thomas Vikstrom, Mats Leven, and Michelle Mc Cain.
To celebrate Therion's 25th anniversary, Christian toured with the band again. They toured Latin America in June 2012. Then, they toured Europe from October to November 2012.
