Christina Haswood (born April 17, 1994) is an American politician. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Christina serves in the Kansas House of Representatives for the 10th district. This district covers parts of southeastern Douglas County, including Baldwin City and Lawrence. She is one of the youngest members in the Kansas Legislature. She is also one of only three Native American members in its history.

Christina Haswood's Early Life and Education
Christina Haswood is from the Navajo Nation. When she was a teenager, she was named Miss Indian Youth of Lawrence. She studied Community Health at Haskell Indian Nations University. There, she earned an associate's degree. Later, she transferred to Arizona State University. She earned a Bachelor's degree in public health in 2018. In May 2020, she graduated from the University of Kansas with a Master's in Public Health.
Christina Haswood's Political Career
In May 2020, Christina Haswood announced she would run for the Kansas House of Representatives. She aimed to represent District 10. Her campaign quickly gained support. Important local, state, and national leaders backed her. These supporters included the previous representative for District 10, Eileen Horn. Former Governor of Kansas Kathleen Sebelius also supported her. Even New Mexico Congresswoman Deb Haaland joined in.
Using TikTok for Her Campaign
During her campaign, Christina started posting videos on TikTok. She shared details about her life and activities. These videos became very popular. They helped her get small donations from people across the country. Because of this, Christina raised the most money of any candidate in the race.
Winning the Election
On August 4, 2020, Christina Haswood won the primary election. She received 71% of the votes. No Republican candidate ran against her in the general election. So, on November 3, 2020, Christina Haswood was elected to the Kansas House without opposition.
Serving in the Kansas House of Representatives
Christina Haswood was sworn into office on January 11, 2021. She wore traditional Navajo clothing for the ceremony. Her TikTok videos of this special event were noticed by the media. They were featured by BuzzFeed and Vogue. She also serves on an important committee. This is the Advisory Committee on Trauma for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
