Exploring Christina Lake
Christina Lake is a unique freshwater lake in Florida. It's called a "manmade" lake because it was built by humans. Originally, it was a big pit dug out for mining. After the mining work was finished, the land was reshaped and filled with water. This turned the old mining pit into the beautiful lake we know today.
Size and Shape of the Lake
This lake covers an area of about 27 acres. That's a pretty good size for a lake created by people! It has a distinct wedge shape. Christina Lake is approximately 1,520 feet long and 960 feet wide.
Where is Christina Lake?
Christina Lake is located in a busy area. To its east, a narrow strip of land separates it from another lake called Six Pound Pond. On the north side, you'll find County Road 540A. A business property is located to the northeast. To the west is S. Florida Avenue (State Route 37). On the south side, there are homes along Christina Lake Drive.
Visiting Christina Lake
While Christina Lake is a public body of water, there are no special areas for swimming or public boat ramps. However, people can still get to the lake.
