Christine Devine was born in Hamburg, New York. She grew up in Arizona. In 1987, she finished her studies at Arizona State University. She started her career as a reporter in Arizona. Later, she joined KTTV.

Christine is part of the Hall of Fame at the Walter Cronkite School of Broadcast Journalism. She also received an award from Arizona State University for her achievements. In 2021, she received an honorary doctorate from Cal State LA.

She went to Tolleson Union High School in Tolleson, Arizona. Christine was the top student in her class. Her classmates voted her "Most Likely to Succeed." Christine's mother married Dr. Jack Devine. He adopted Christine, and she changed her name to Christine Devine.
