Christopher Fairfield Edley Jr. (born January 13, 1953) is an important American leader in law and government. He was the top leader, called the Dean, of the University of California, Berkeley School of Law from 2004 to 2013. He also helped start an organization called the Opportunity Institute, where he is now the President.

Chris Edley was born on January 13, 1953. He went to Swarthmore College and studied mathematics. After that, he went to Harvard Law School. There, he earned degrees in law and public policy. Later, he even became a professor at Harvard Law School. He taught a subject called Administrative Law. He also helped create the Harvard Civil Rights Project.
