The Anglican Church of All Saints is located in Kingweston, a village in Somerset, England. This church was mostly rebuilt between 1852 and 1855 by an architect named Charles Edmund Giles. It is officially recognized as a Grade II* listed building. This means it's a very important historical building that should be preserved.

A Look Back: Church History

The Church of All Saints has a long history. Some parts of the original medieval church, like a doorway, are still there. However, most of the church was rebuilt by Charles Edmund Giles from 1852 to 1855. The money for this big rebuilding project came from Francis Dickinson. He was a local member of parliament, which means he was elected to represent the area in the government.

During World War II, the church building was damaged. This happened when bombs exploded nearby.

Today, the church is part of a group of parishes called the Wheathill Priory Group. These parishes are all connected to the Diocese of Bath and Wells, which is a larger church area.

Church Design and Features

The Church of All Saints is built from stone. It has special decorative stones called Doulting stone dressings. The roofs are made of stone slates.

The church has a main area called a nave, which has three sections or "bays." It also has a chancel, which is the part of the church near the altar, with two bays. The church has a single tower that is supported by strong buttresses. On top of the tower, there is an eight-sided spire that points upwards.

Inside the church, most of the features you see are from the 1800s, when it was rebuilt. However, there is one very old item: a font from the 12th century. A font is a basin used for baptisms.
