The Church of All Saints is a beautiful old church in Kingweston, a village in Somerset, England. It's an Anglican church, which means it belongs to the Church of England. Most of the church was rebuilt a long time ago, between 1852 and 1855, by an architect named Charles Edmund Giles. It's also a special 'Grade II* listed building', meaning it's an important historical site that needs to be protected.

Discovering the Church's Past

Even though the church was mostly rebuilt, some parts of the original medieval church are still there. This includes an old doorway. The main rebuilding work was done by Charles Edmund Giles between 1852 and 1855.

The money for this big project came from Francis Dickinson. He was a local member of parliament, which means he was a person elected to represent the area in the government.

During World War II, the church building was damaged. This happened when bombs exploded nearby.

Today, the church is part of a group of parishes called the Wheathill Priory Group. This group belongs to the Diocese of Bath and Wells, which is a larger church area.

What the Church Looks Like

The Church of All Saints is made of stone. It has special Doulting stone decorations and stone roofs. The main part of the church, called the nave, has three sections. The chancel, where the altar is, has two sections.

The church has a single tower that is supported by strong buttresses. These are like extra supports built into the walls. The tower has an eight-sided, pointed roof called an spire.

Inside, most of the church was built in the 1800s. However, there is a very old font from the 1100s. A font is a special bowl used for baptisms.
