The Church of Sweden Youth (in Swedish: Svenska kyrkans unga) is a special group for children and young people. It is connected to the Church of Sweden. This organization was created on January 1, 1993. It was formed when several older youth groups within the church decided to join together.
Even though people talked about merging these groups as early as 1964, it took a long time. The final decision to merge happened at a meeting on December 6, 1992. By 2013, the Church of Sweden Youth had about 13,000 members of different ages.

How the Church of Sweden Youth is Organized
The Church of Sweden Youth has different levels to help it run smoothly. These levels are national, regional, and local.
National Level
At the national level, the most important meeting is called the National Assembly. In Swedish, this is the Riksårsmöte, often shortened to RÅM. This meeting is where the biggest decisions are made for the whole organization. Each regional group sends people, called representatives, to attend the National Assembly. These representatives vote on important matters.
Regional Level
For each region, there is an annual meeting called the district meeting. In Swedish, this is the Distriktsårsmöte, or DÅM. This meeting is the main decision-making body for that specific region. Local groups within the district choose representatives to send to the DÅM. The number of representatives a local group sends depends on how many members it has. At the DÅM, people are chosen to represent the district at the national RÅM meeting.
Local Level
At the local level, each group has its own annual meeting. This is called the Lokalavdelningsårsmöte, or LAÅM. Sometimes it's just called a members' meeting. At this meeting, all members of the local group can vote on decisions.
During the LAÅM, a local group often elects a board. This board helps make all the day-to-day decisions for the local group. Smaller local groups might not have a separate board. If a local group manages its own money, the board also makes financial decisions. They must follow the budget that was approved at the annual meeting. Also, at the LAÅM, members choose delegates. These delegates will represent their local group at the district's annual meeting (DÅM).
