Cierra Alexa Ramirez (born March 9, 1995) is a talented American actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Mariana Adams Foster in the TV series The Fosters. She also continued this role in the spin-off series Good Trouble. Cierra helped produce Good Trouble with her co-star Maia Mitchell.

Cierra has received several awards and nominations for her work. These include an ALMA Award and a nomination for a GLAAD Media Award.

Early Life

Cierra Ramirez was born on March 9, 1995, in Houston, Texas. Her father, Sonny Ramirez, was a music producer. Her mother, Cris Ramirez, worked as a kindergarten teacher.

Cierra grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. She attended Westside High School for two years. Later, she moved to Los Angeles, California. She finished high school through a home-school program. This allowed her to focus on her acting career.

Career

Cierra's music career started early. When she was just 10 years old, she sang on the TV show Showtime at the Apollo. This was her first time on television.

Cierra is signed with Empire and Tribeca Music Group. She has opened concerts for famous bands. These include Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago.

On June 20, 2016, Cierra released her first music collection, called an EP, titled Discreet. She later released singles like "Faded" in 2017.

In 2018, she released "Bad Boys," the first song from her album Over Your Head. This album came out on February 28, 2020. Other songs from the album included "Liquid Courage (Love Me Better)" and "Broke Us."

Acting Roles

In 2007, Cierra had a recurring role on the Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. She played Jasmine, a young camper.

She also played Kathy in The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Kathy was a pregnant freshman in the show.

Cierra made her movie debut in 2012. She starred in the film Girl in Progress. For this role, she won an ALMA Award for Favorite Movie Actress.

From 2013, Cierra played Mariana Foster in The Fosters. Her character was a smart student adopted by a lesbian couple. The show was very popular.

The Fosters ended in 2018. But Cierra continued her role in the spin-off show Good Trouble. This new series started in January 2019.

In 2017, Cierra starred in the Lifetime movie Drink, Slay, Love. She played a vampire who became immune to sunlight.

Personal Life

Cierra Ramirez has a mixed heritage. She is of Colombian and Mexican descent.

She dated YouTuber and comedian Jeff Wittek for three years, starting in 2015.

Since 2019, Cierra has been in a relationship with musician OTHRSYDE, whose real name is Jonathan Zallez. They announced their engagement in September 2023.
