Cierra Alexa Ramirez (born March 9, 1995) is a talented American actress and singer. She is well-known for her role as Mariana Adams Foster in the TV show The Fosters. She also continued this role in the spin-off series Good Trouble, where she was also a co-executive producer. Cierra has won an ALMA Award for her acting.

Early Life and Education

Cierra Ramirez was born in Houston, Texas, on March 9, 1995. Her dad, Sonny Ramirez, was a music producer, and her mom, Cris Ramirez, was a kindergarten teacher. Cierra grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. She went to Westside High School for two years. Later, she moved to Los Angeles, California. To focus on her acting career, she finished high school through a home-school program.

Music Journey

Cierra's journey into entertainment began with music. When she was just 10 years old, she sang on the TV show Showtime at the Apollo. This was part of the "Apollo Kids Star of Tomorrow" segment. Cierra has signed with Empire and Tribeca Music Group. She has even opened concerts for famous bands like Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago.

On June 20, 2016, Cierra released her first collection of songs, called an EP, titled Discreet. She then released singles like "Faded" in 2017. In 2018, she released "Bad Boys," which was the first song from her first album, Over Your Head. This album came out on February 28, 2020. Other songs from the album include "Liquid Courage (Love Me Better)" and "Broke Us."

Acting Roles

In 2007, Cierra had a recurring role on the Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. She played Jasmine, a young camper. She also played Kathy in The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

Cierra made her movie debut in 2012 in the film Girl in Progress. She played the main character and won an ALMA Award for Favorite Movie Actress in a Supporting Role.

From 2013 to 2018, Cierra starred as Mariana Foster in The Fosters on the Freeform channel. Her character, Mariana, was a smart student who was adopted into a diverse family. After The Fosters ended, Cierra continued her role as Mariana in the spin-off series Good Trouble, which started in January 2019. She was also an executive producer for Good Trouble.

In 2017, Cierra also starred in the Lifetime movie Drink, Slay, Love. In this film, she played a vampire who becomes immune to sunlight.

Personal Life

Cierra Ramirez has a mixed heritage, with roots from Colombia and Mexico. She has been in a relationship with musician OTHRSYDE (Jonathan Zallez) since 2019. They announced their engagement in September 2023.
