Cimarron City is a small town in Logan County, Oklahoma, United States. In 2020, about 155 people lived there. This town is part of the larger Oklahoma City area. It is known as a place where people live and relax, especially after retirement.

History of Cimarron City

Cimarron City was created in July 1973. It was planned by real estate developers J. L. Swaim and Don McLaughlin. Leon Spitz, an engineer, designed the homes. The idea was to build a community where families and retirees could enjoy a quiet, country-like setting.

The town grew slowly as new homes were built. Many residents work in nearby cities like Oklahoma City, Guthrie, Edmond, or Crescent. They travel to these cities for their jobs. Cimarron City officially became a town in 1974. It was named after the Cimarron River, which flows through the area.

Cimarron City is located about 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Crescent. It is also about 10 miles (16 km) west of Guthrie.
