Cisnes is a special place in Chile. Its name means "port swans" in Spanish. It is a large area, or "commune," located in the Aysén Province within the Aysén del General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Region. The entire commune covers about 15,831 square kilometers.

Population Numbers

In 2002, a study counted everyone living in Cisnes. There were 5,353 people in total. More than half of these people, 3,232, lived in the countryside. The rest, 2,507 people, lived in towns or cities.
