Claire Robertson D'Amore was born on June 4, 1982, in Torrance, California. She is a talented American beach volleyball player. Claire has won many awards and tournaments throughout her career. She earned gold medals in international competitions and was named "Rookie of the Year" in the AVP tour.

Claire D'Amore's Early Life and Education
Claire grew up in Rolling Hills Estates, California. She went to Northern Arizona University for her college studies. There, she earned a degree in Health Promotion and Physical Education.
College Achievements
During her time at university, Claire was a great student athlete. She received several special awards. In 2001, she won the "NAU Golden Eagle Scholar Athlete Award." This award recognized her strong performance in both sports and academics. She was also honored at the 2003 Fiesta Bowl Tournament. Claire was named "All Tournament" for her excellent play. She also made the "All Conference Second Team" in 2003 and received an "Honorable Mention" in 2002.
Becoming a Beach Volleyball Star
Claire started playing beach volleyball at a young age. In 1998, she won the Girls U16/U15 National Beach Championship. She played alongside her partner, Tawny Schulte, to win this big title.
Professional Career Highlights
As a professional player, Claire joined the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) tour. In 2006, she was named the "Rookie of the Year." This award goes to the best new player in the league. The next year, in 2007, she was recognized as a "Top Upcoming Player." From 2007 to 2010, Claire was ranked among the top five players in "digs." A "dig" is when a player successfully keeps the ball from hitting the ground after an opponent's attack.
International Success
Claire has also achieved great success in international competitions. She won six CBVA (California Beach Volleyball Association) tournaments in a row. She earned a gold medal at the NORCECA (North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation) event in Guatemala. In 2009, she won another gold medal at the NORCECA Circuit in Jamaica. For this victory, she teamed up with fellow player Emily Day.
