Clark's Point first appeared in the U.S. Census in 1890. Back then, it was called "Stugarok" and was an Inuit village with only 7 people. It was not counted again until 1930. At that time, it was called Clark's Point and had 25 residents. The city officially became an incorporated city in 1971.
