Claudia Fabiana Fernández Viera (born 22 June 1976) is a well-known television presenter, fashion model, actress, and businesswoman from Uruguay. She was born in Punta de Rieles – Bella Italia, a neighborhood in Montevideo. Claudia started her career as a model when she was a teenager. Later, in the late 1990s, she began working on TV shows like Dale que Podés. She also took part in popular reality shows in Argentina, such as Bailando por un Sueño.

Early Life and Family

Claudia Fabiana Fernández Viera was born in 1976 in the barrio (neighborhood) of Punta de Rieles – Bella Italia in Montevideo. She grew up with her father, Fernando Fernández, and her grandparents, Irma and Juan Antonio Fernández. Claudia has four siblings: Mariana, Fernando, Adriana, and Karina. She went to school at Colegio Sagrado Corazón De Jesús - Liceo Vedruna.

Claudia is a Roman Catholic. She married Argentine businessman Leonel Delménico on 24 April 2009, in Buenos Aires. They also had a wedding ceremony in Montevideo on 5 June 2009. Later that year, on 6 November, Claudia gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Mía Elena. On 8 December 2013, she welcomed her second child, a son named Renzo.

Becoming a Model

Claudia's journey into the fashion world began when she was just 15 years old. A photographer noticed her while she was walking with her grandmother, Irma, on 18 de Julio Avenue. Soon after, she started working as a model for María Raquel Bonifaccino & Carlos Cámara. Her face and figure quickly became familiar on Channel 4 in Uruguay. She also worked with the model agency of Diego Ríos.

Claudia has modeled for several magazines, including Caras and Gente in Uruguay and Argentina.

Early TV Shows

In 2005, she starred in the reality show Cambio de Vida, which was the Uruguayan version of The Simple Life. In this show, Claudia and Tammara Benasús played city girls who tried to live in a rural area.

In 2007, Claudia joined the fourth season of ShowMatch in the dance competition Bailando por un Sueño. She replaced another actress and was eliminated in the 22nd round. She also participated in the fifth season of Bailando por un Sueño, where she danced for two rounds before being eliminated.

Hosting and Judging Roles

In February 2017, Claudia took over as the host of Escape Perfecto - Edición Famosos. She co-hosted the show with Annasofía Facello on Channel 10. The show finished on 17 June 2020. In the second half of 2019, she hosted ¿Qué haría tu hijo?, which was a local version of a British TV program.

In September 2019, it was announced that Claudia Fernández would be a judge on Got Talent Uruguay. She joined a panel of judges that included Orlando Petinatti, María Noel Ricceto, and Agustín Casanova. The first season of Got Talent Uruguay premiered on 22 June 2020. The show was very popular and was renewed for a second and third season, with the last season airing in November 2022.

In 2024, Claudia competed in and won the fourth season of ¿Quién es la máscara? (The Masked Singer) as the character "Sapa".
