Clayton Collard was born on December 4, 1988. He is an Australian rules footballer. He plays as a midfielder or a small forward. The Fremantle Football Club chose him in the 2006 AFL draft. Later, the Richmond Football Club picked him in the 2007 Rookie Draft.

Starting His Football Journey
Clayton played for the South Fremantle Football Club in 2006. This was part of the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He also played for Western Australia in big championships. He learned a lot at the AIS/AFL academy.
Playing for Fremantle
Clayton played his first game for the Fremantle Dockers in 2007. This was against the St Kilda team. It was a special game because it was the first ever Indigenous Round. Clayton got to play because he was doing well in the WAFL. Also, his mentor, Jeff Farmer, was not able to play.
Moving to Richmond
On October 22, 2007, the Fremantle Football Club decided not to keep Clayton. But then, the Richmond Football Club chose him in the 2008 Rookie Draft. He played for the Coburg Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during 2008. However, he did not play any games for Richmond. At the end of 2008, Richmond also decided not to keep him.
Returning to Western Australia
After taking a year off from football, Clayton came back in 2010. He joined the Peel Thunder team. This team is also in Western Australia.
