Clayton Greene Jr. was born on January 22, 1951. He is an American lawyer. He used to be a judge from Annapolis, Maryland. He worked as a judge on the Maryland Court of Appeals. This is a very important court in Maryland. Governor Robert Ehrlich chose him for this job. He served from January 22, 2004, until he retired on June 30, 2019.

Early Life and Education
Clayton Greene Jr. was born in Glen Burnie, Maryland. He went to public schools there. This included Northeast High School in Pasadena.
He later went to the University of Maryland, College Park. In 1973, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then studied law at the University of Maryland School of Law. He earned his law degree in 1976.
Starting His Law Career
In 1977, Clayton Greene Jr. became a licensed lawyer. This means he was "admitted to the bar." After that, he started working as an Assistant Public Defender. A Public Defender is a lawyer who helps people who cannot afford a lawyer.
Becoming a Judge
Clayton Greene Jr. became a judge in 1990. He was first appointed as an Administrative Judge. This was for District 7 in Anne Arundel County.
In 1996, he moved up to the Circuit Court. This is a higher court. Then, in 2004, he was appointed to the state's highest court. This court is called the Maryland Court of Appeals. He served there until he retired in 2019.
