Clermont is a small town located in Hall County, Georgia, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,021 people lived there. It is part of the larger Gainesville metropolitan area.

History of Clermont
Clermont used to have a different name! It was first called "Dip" when a post office opened there in 1892. Later, in 1905, its name was changed to Clermont. The town officially became the "Town of Clermont" in 1913. Its original boundaries stretched out one mile from the center of King and Main streets.
Where is Clermont Located?
Clermont is found in the northern part of Hall County. A main road, U.S. Route 129, goes right through the town. This road can take you north to Cleveland (about 9 miles away) or south to Gainesville (about 15 miles away). Gainesville is the main city of Hall County. Two other state roads, Georgia State Route 283 and Georgia State Route 284, also meet in Clermont.
The town covers a total area of about 7.7 square kilometers (about 2.97 square miles). Most of this area is land, with only a tiny bit (about 0.04 square kilometers) being water.
