Cleveland Francis, born on April 22, 1945, is an American singer and songwriter. He is also a heart doctor, known as a cardiologist. Cleve Francis has been making music since the late 1960s. He has released nine albums in total. His song "You Do My Heart Good" was very popular in 1992.

Cleve Francis's Life Story
Early Music and Medical Path
Cleve Francis started his music journey in the late 1960s. At that time, he sang folk and blues songs. He was also a student at the College of William & Mary. In 1969, he earned a Master of Arts degree there.
After his studies, he went to medical school. He attended the Medical College of Virginia. This school is now called Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He worked hard and became a heart doctor, a cardiologist.
Switching to Country Music
In the late 1980s, Cleve Francis decided to focus on country music. He signed with a record company called Playback Records. His first country album was named Last Call for Love. It came out in 1990. This album included a song called "Love Light." A music video was also made for this song.
Success with Liberty Records
A record producer named Jimmy Bowen saw the "Love Light" music video on CMT. He was impressed and signed Cleve Francis to Liberty Records in 1992.
Between 1992 and 1994, Cleve Francis released three albums with Liberty Records. He also had four songs appear on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. His most successful song was "You Do My Heart Good" in 1992.
Returning to Medicine
In 1994, Cleve Francis went back to his medical work. He practices medicine in Northern Virginia. He is the president of Mount Vernon Cardiology Associates.
Even while working as a doctor, he continued to perform music. He has played at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia. He even has a live album from 2006 called Storytime, recorded there.
In 2022, Cleve Francis released a special album called "Beyond the Willow Tree." This album was a new version of his very first folk album, "Follow Me," from 1970. It also included other folk songs he recorded earlier.
