College Basketball
Clifford Lett went to the University of Florida. He played college basketball for the Florida Gators from 1985 to 1989. This helped him prepare for a professional career.
Playing in the NBA
In March 1990, Clifford Lett signed a 10-day contract with the Chicago Bulls. He then signed a second contract in April. He played in four games for the Bulls and scored 4 points. After this, the Bulls did not keep him on their team.
His NBA career continued briefly in the 1990-91 NBA season. In February 1991, he signed a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs. He played seven more games for the Spurs. After 20 days, his contract ended, and he was waived.
Success in the CBA
Clifford Lett played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). This was a professional basketball league in the United States. He played for several teams from 1989 to 1995. These teams included the Pensacola Tornados, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Columbus Horizon, and Rockford Lightning.
Lett had a very successful year in the CBA in 1990. He was named the CBA Rookie of the Year. This award goes to the best new player in the league. He was also chosen for the All-Defensive Team. This means he was one of the best defensive players. Additionally, he was part of the All-Rookie Team.
