History of Climbing Hill
The community of Climbing Hill got its name from its first settler and postmaster, C. E. Ostrander. His home was on a high piece of land. To reach it, people had to climb a hill.
Even though the community moved several times, the name "Climbing Hill" stuck. Around 1867, the community finally settled on flat land.
Over the years, the population of Climbing Hill has changed:
